Blog Entry #3: Reading & Listening

Part I: 1: "Go to Philly, best brew I've tasted in all my life. Most refreshing thing I've ever tried." "Erik, tell me about that brewery in Philly." "Yuengling is the goat, that's all I have to say." "Wait a minute, Chase, now that I have you here, what did I just watch?" "You mean that YouTube video I sent you over Facebook?" "Yeah." "Oh yeah, I knew you'd like it." "Nah man, that shit was weird as hell." "Again, I knew you'd like it." 2: "Don't make this scenario a soap opera, tell me now. Is she my child or not?" "Yes she's yours, obviously. I can't believe you'd have the audacity to even question me like this." "Oh yeah? Well why don't you hear me out. She looks nothing like me. Who the hell has redhead in our family? You're a brunette, I'm a brunette. There's no redheads in either of our families....

Blog Entry #2: Author & Character's

Part 1: Creating characters is my favorite part of constructing a story so I'm going to go out on a limb and answer all of the prompts in this post... The characters I typically write about are young adults, between the ages of 20 and 30. I'm drawn to these characters for a couple of reasons. First of all, I can relate to them easily, considering I'm in this age range. The novel I've been working on has the majority of the character's in their early twenties for example. Blog Entry #1: Intro. & Creation

Without doing any research, all I know about my role-play author is nothing at all. I chose Dorothy Allison for the reason being I've never heard of her, so I thought it'd be a stellar idea to learn more about her and her writing style. As for her work, I also don't know of anything right off the bat so this'll be an experience. Having this reflection blog to look back upon as I work on my creative fiction for this class is kind of cool. With the novel I'm currently working on, all I have is a journal (a story bible if you will) that details every single character, setting and much more. I've never actually reflected, in writing, on my own works in this type of way so I'm looking forward to reading it all once this class comes to an end. What I'm hoping to gain is a better look at how my writing technique develops from this class. I want to be the best writer I can ultimately become and while I'll never be a perfect writer, that doesn't mean I ...
